These are finger foods, the kind of foods you make to eat with drinks, snack foods really – alright, they’re canapés, though I really hate the word and all the connotations that it brings with it. I once worked (for less than a week) at a canapé catering company where I stuffed cherry tomatoes with pesto, boned whole quails and spent a merry afternoon squirting custard into tiny tart shells with a syringe.
They’re easy to make, they’re brilliant with a glass of something boozy, they might even looks impressive on a platter, and, most importantly, they taste great.
